Lose Weight Naturally

Our Fitness Management Club promotes evidence based weight loss and improved fitness which will allow you to reach your chosen ideal body weight safely and effectively: without needing to resort to drugs or surgery.

As all of our plans are evidence based we are confident that if you follow them that you will lose weight naturally, and that once you have lost it you are less likely to put it back on again. This is because you will have established healthy eating patterns and included physical activity into your lifestyle. Also once you have reached your Goal Weight we will still support you.

Evidence for our Men’s diets

The plans generally follow the latest guidelines for weight loss from The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence. Its report warns that, unduly restrictive and nutritionally unbalanced diets are ineffective, and says that, the ideal diet is one which contains 600 calories a day less than the individual burns in energy. This plan is the one most likely to result in, sustainable weight loss.

Our plans are nutritionally balanced and have been worked out for you to give you, on average, the optimal amount of calories to encourage effective weight loss. So if you follow our healthy eating plans, not only should you lose weight naturally, but it is likely to stay lost too.

Evidence for our Fitness Plans

Our Exercise Plans are tailored to your assessed level of Fitness. They are in line with the current UK guidelines as issued by the Chief Medical Officer to promote and maintain health, and to encourage weight loss. Sir Liam Donaldson said: For general health benefit, adults should achieve a total of at least 30 minutes a day of at least moderate intensity physical activity, on 5 or more days of the week. It is not about spending hours and hours in the gym, but it is about finding ways to build activities into our daily lives.

Professor Ken fox from the Department of Exercise, Nutrition and Health Sciences at the University of Bristol concluded in 2008 that, Greatest weight loss combines moderate dietary restriction with Physical Activity …and brings very important health benefits in those who are overweight. He added that, Few people sustain weight loss unless they become regularly active.

You do not have to follow our exercise plans, but if you do you will improve your fitness, and have a more consistent weight loss over time, which will get you to your ideal body weight quicker.

Evidence for our Weight Management System

The National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) reported in 2006 that a, planned weight management programme should give realistic targets for weight loss of between 0.5 and 1Kg per week as well as realistic targets for outcomes other than weight loss, such as increased physical activity and healthier eating.
